Sorbonne University is a multidisciplinary, research-intensive university with a global reach. It arose from the amalgamation of Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI) and Paris-Sorbonne University on January 1, 2018. (Paris IV). It covers all areas of the humanities, medicine, science, and engineering and is located in the center of Paris.

What is the best way for me to connect with other alumni from my program?

Some Sorbonne University programs have a dedicated alumni network for their field. Send us an email with the details of your original program so that we can connect you with them. We can conduct a search for you if the program you're interested in does not yet have a network of graduates.

Is it necessary to be able to communicate in French in order to attend the Sorbonne?

It is necessary to have a sufficient level of French before coming to study in France (written and oral). Please keep in mind that the majority of our classes are held in French. As a result, it is strongly advised that you brush up on your French language abilities before enrolling at Sorbonne University.

There are no tuition fees at French public universities, although there are small registration fees because the government pays for the majority of the costs of these public education programs. The real expense of education is the same as it is anywhere else in the globe, at € 10,000 per year.

Sorbonne University was placed 51-60 internationally and 2nd in France in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2019. Sorbonne University was placed 83rd in the world and 3rd in France in the QS World University Rankings for 2021. Individual Sorbonne faculties were also included in the rankings.
