What kind of job can I expect to get after my degree at SOAS?

Graduates from SOAS go on to pursue a variety of careers, both in the UK and outside. The University has its own SOAS Careers Service which offers comprehensive career services with specialist information that reflects the interest and courses of study of the students. Students can also use the services of ULCS, the biggest University careers service in the country.

Will I be allowed to work while studying in UK?

Yes. Most international students are allowed to work part-time jobs 20 hours per week during the term time and full time during vacations. However, you should not rely on your part-time earnings as the only source of income and should not compromise on your studies.

Does SOAS provide on-campus accommodation?

Yes. SOAS does provide student accommodation. Applications for accommodation can be made online, with a unique reference code being sent to you when you have accepted the offer. Students can also apply for limited spaces in intercollegiate halls.

SOAS offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees. They also offer a range of certificates, diplomas and foundation programmes which students can apply for short term studies. The university specialises in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East as well as languages and cultural studies. Will I have access to the internet at SOAS?

There are internet-ready PCs available in various locations throughout the SOAS buildings and in the library. All students are given a SOAS email address and will be able to access online email accounts. SOAS offers a free network access port in the students' room at Dinwiddy and Robeson Halls and there are public access ports throughout the campus. PCs must be registered to be used.
